With over 40 years of experience in international agriculture, José Iván has dedicated 35 years of his career to the International Maize and Wheat Improvement Center (CIMMYT), where he reached the position of principal scientist. He is a member of the Mexican Academy of Sciences and was awarded the sustainability science award by the Ecological Society of America in 2013. Throughout his career, he has received numerous accolades for his scientific achievements and work in technology transfer to farmers, contributing to the development of innovative solutions for the agricultural sector.

His strategic vision and business development experience have been crucial in the creation and consolidation of IAMEX.
